Meursault Genvrière 2004, Domaine Darviot-Perrin

Deep golden yellow color. Vibrant and complex nose of hazel nuts, cherry plum, butter, honey, summer porcini and some curry. In the mouth, excellent concentration, length and acidity with taste of melon, yellow fruit and grilled almonds. A previous bottle of the same wine conserved in the same cellar was prematurely oxidized, but this one is alive and kicking. very fine.

Volnay clos des duc 2003, Marquis D'Angerville

Quite a dark and matte garnet color with no evolution sign on the rim. Medium strength nose of back fruit intertwined with oriental spices, musk, clove and coffee notes. A really enchanting nose! Nice volume, intensity and length. Tannins were dry at the beginning but smoothened with time. Great wine, much better than the bottle drank in 2009 which I had found heavy and lacking freshness at that time. The wine harmonized in the past 4 years. Which indicate that we can wait on these 2003s.

Vosne-Romanée 2005, Domaine Bizot

Medium intensity color, no sign of evolution. After 4 hours of opening the bottle, very interesting medium strength nose of oriental spice, red fruit and some violet. Good equilibrium, taste of red fruit and even some citrus. Decent length for a villages wine. Still some fine tannins left. I would suggest to keep it for some more years. Very good village wine in a great vintage.

Riseling Hengst 2007, Domaine Barmès-Brucher

Yellow golden color. Beautiful intense nose reminding lemon, orange and  grapefruit. Quite dry and long. Keep it cold. Good but not exceptional as not complex enough at this stage, and would have liked to see a bit more freshness.

Riesling Sommerberg "D" 2009, Albert Boxler

Very pale yellowish color. Low intensity nose of citrus and some flowery notes. Very round pineapple and lemon flavors with a long fresh finish. Not fat. Drink cold to preserve the equilibrium. goes well with goat cheese. Flavors are not so intense. This is a good wine but does not explain why this producer is so sought after. Not dry enough for me.
